As the opioid overdose epidemic continues, hospitals and health systems are recognizing the need to effectively manage patients' pain while preventing new cases of opioid addiction. The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country’s #1 and #5 killers: heart disease and stroke. This year, the walk will be held at Camden Yards Sports Complex on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. – noon. The Johns Hopkins picture will be taken at 9:30 a.m. Please register for the walk on the JHUSON team site (we need a count of JH T-shirts).
This month’s speaker is Holly Taylor, PhD, Associate Professor of Health Policy & Management with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her presentation will elaborate on the goals of the Research Ethics Consultation Service - to help raise awareness of, and to assist investigators in resolving ethical issues throughout the entire research process. She will also discuss the free consults offered to all Johns Hopkins faculty, staff and students.
