This year (September 9-11), the SON will be a lead sponsor, overseeing one of three tracks—focusing on patient safety and ways to improve nursing efficiency to decrease adverse events such as medication errors.

The White House has called for nominations for the top Community Uniters. The SON has nominated Assistant Professor Michelle Patch for this recognition for her extraordinary work on the public safety issue of violence, particularly post-strangulation care.
Run for Marian House
Marian House is one of the SON’s community partners, providing housing for clients—mostly women—following incarceration, a period of housing instability, and/or substance use treatment. They are often being reunited with children. Marian House provides wrap-around services to get them back on their feet. The 5K race, this year on September 24 (7:30 a.m. registration; 9 a.m. race), is its biggest fundraiser.
